BRA Hospitality Chair Annual Report 2024-2025

A primary duty of the Hospitality Chairperson in each cluster is to offer welcome and assistance to new residents as they move into the Cluster.  The Chairs are expected to invite new residents to the dining room and acquaint them with dining routines.  They are trained to go over the  Welcome Packet from Marketing after the resident has had a little time to adjust from the move.  They  escort the resident to the Welcome Reception and introduces him/her to the Cluster.  These responsibilities are relayed to the Hospitality Chairs through training meetings conducted by the Hospitality Coordinator.  Each Hospitality Chair is given a document of responsibilities at the first meeting of the fiscal year.

The Hospitality Chairs are to plan an annual picnic and other social events as desired within the cluster.  Clusters are individually unique and some enjoy gathering more often than others.

The Hospitality Coordinator, in addition to working with the Chairs, plans a Welcome Reception with the help of Broadmead’s dining service.  These receptions are every six months and are budgeted with the Food Service for $1,500 each.    This year the Welcome Receptions were held in December and June.  Forty three residents have been welcomed into the Broadmead Community in the 2024-25 fiscal year.  A video of the New Residents was created and shone on the large screen during the receptions.  Residents were able to connect the name of the new person with their picture.  This was well received.

The layout of the reception was changed and all activity were moved to in front of the stage which offered less congestion at the entrances. The Coordinator  planned a Holiday Reception following the Chorus Holiday Concert; however,  the concert was cancelled due to viruses in the chorus and community.
