Revision as of 11:21, 18 May 2026 by Archives (talk | contribs)

A spread sheet linked to biographies and notes about residents past and present is provided for viewing. If you should have any corrections or additions that you would like to suggest, please send them to archivesbroadmead@gmail.com noting the name of the resident of interest to you. This is a work in progress with the aim of documenting the lives of all residents of Broadmead and their contributions to the community. Each time the spreadsheet is updated the link here is updated as well.

One of the first biographical projects, in anticipation the 50th anniversary of the Broadmead Residents Association in 2029, is documenting the lives and contributions of the first residents to occupy the 248 garden style cluster cottages. They were known as "Mudders" for their ordeal with the mud of ongoing construction.

The collection is divided into four separate series:

  • BRAC0068-01 Authoritative list of all residents of Broadmead, past and present linked to biographical information
  • BRAC0068-02 "Mudders" Project exploring the lives of the first residents of Broadmead
  • BRAC0068-03 Cluster Histories incorporating the Know Your Neighbors project of  John Michener and Alice Giles
  • BRAC0068-04 Alice Gile's collection of Residents who moved away.
